Senior Electronics Test Engineer – Space Systems
Location: Denver Area, Colorado
Salary: $120,000 – $160,500 + stock/options and benefits
Employment: Full-time

About the Role
A rapidly growing space technology company is looking for a Senior Electronics Test Engineer to join its engineering team. The company develops advanced communication and electronics systems for satellites, spacecraft, launch vehicles, and other aerospace platforms.
You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of engineering test plans, procedures, and test systems for board-level electronics, including power, digital, and RF electronics.
The ideal candidate combines strong hardware and software knowledge with practical experience in measurement techniques, laboratory equipment, test architectures, automation, and integrated hardware/software testing.
Key Responsibilities
Develop test architectures and test systems, including equipment selection, test fixtures, data logging methodologies, and hardware/software interfaces.
Design and execute tests across prototype, qualification, and acceptance stages.
Develop test requirements for new electronic products.
Design and execute tests for compliance with relevant aerospace and environmental standards.
Plan and perform board-level verification, including:
High-speed signal integrity
Digital link characterization
Power supply performance
Performance across temperature
Develop test systems for complex integrated hardware and software products combining electronics, computing systems, radios, and antennas.
Advise design engineers on Design for Testability (DFT).
Analyse, evaluate, and document test results and present findings to key stakeholders.
Develop and continuously improve internal test software, tools, processes, and documentation.
Train technicians and operators on test procedures and equipment.
Support laboratory development, equipment integration, and lab management.
Contribute to engineering design reviews and technical proposals.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
4+ years of industry or university research experience involving electronic products and/or test systems.
Experience designing and executing test plans for custom board-level electronics.
Hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation such as:
Digital oscilloscopes
Spectrum analysers
RF signal generators
Vector signal analysers
Programming or scripting experience using tools such as Python, LabVIEW, SQL, MATLAB, Embedded C, or similar.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Experience
Experience working within a version-controlled development environment, such as Git or SVN.
Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
Understanding of networking concepts including VLANs and network security.
Experience developing graphical user interfaces for production or engineering environments.
Strong knowledge of digital and analogue interfaces, including:
GPIB
USB
VISA
TCP/IP
VLAN
CAN bus
SPI
I²C
Analogue-to-digital conversion
Experience programming automated test equipment using SCPI.
Experience developing reusable and modular test automation software.
Experience with electronics used in satellite, spacecraft, RF, communications, or other aerospace systems.
Compensation & Benefits
$120,000 – $160,500 per year, depending on experience, education, technical skills, and overall fit for the position.
