Senior Electronics Test Engineer (Full-Time, Permanent)
Location: Westminster, Colorado (On-site)
A growing Space technology company developing advanced electronic systems is seeking a Senior Electronics Test Engineer to join its engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys designing innovative test solutions, developing automation, and working across the full product development lifecycle.
You'll play a key role in the design, implementation and continuous improvement of sophisticated test systems used to validate complex electronic products, working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
The Role
As a Senior Electronics Test Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing test architectures, creating automated test solutions, and validating board-level electronic systems from prototype through to production.
Key responsibilities include:
Designing and developing automated test systems and architectures
Creating test plans, procedures and validation methodologies
Developing software for hardware interfaces and automated test equipment
Designing reusable and scalable test software using Python or similar programming languages
Executing prototype, qualification and production testing
Supporting hardware verification and system integration
Analysing, documenting and presenting test results to engineering stakeholders
Supporting laboratory development, equipment selection and test infrastructure
Advising engineering teams on design-for-test (DFT) best practices
Contributing to continuous improvement of test tools, software and documentation
Mentoring technicians and supporting production test activities
Required Experience
We're looking for engineers with experience in many of the following:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
4+ years' experience designing and implementing electronic test systems
Experience testing custom board-level electronic hardware
Strong understanding of automated test methodologies
Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment including:
Oscilloscopes
Spectrum analysers
RF signal generators
Vector signal analysers
Programming or scripting experience using Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, Embedded C or similar
Experience designing test plans and analysing technical data
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
Version control systems such as Git or SVN
Windows and Linux environments
Network communications and interface protocols
Development of graphical user interfaces (GUI) for test applications
Programming automated test equipment using SCPI
Experience with digital and analogue communication interfaces including SPI, I²C, CAN, USB, TCP/IP or similar
