Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electronic Characterization Engineer to join the Electronics Test and Validation team supporting advanced automotive ECU platforms. The ideal candidate will play a key role in module-level validation, characterization, and design verification of vehicle electronics, with a strong focus on Zonal and Battery ECUs.
This role requires deep expertise in electronics validation, bench-level testing, hardware characterization, automation, and cross-functional collaboration with hardware, firmware, reliability, and manufacturing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop detailed design verification and characterization test plans for ECU programs
• Lead execution of characterization and validation testing aligned with project milestones
• Perform bench-level characterization at IC and PCBA levels
• Analyze test coverage and generate detailed reports
• Provide early feedback to hardware design teams regarding design decisions and testability
• Create and present Design for Testability (DFT) reports for ECU designs
• Coordinate characterization schedules and communicate project status to leadership and cross-functional teams
• Develop basic automation scripts and instrumentation drivers using Python
• Collaborate with firmware/software teams for flashing, testing, and troubleshooting activities
• Lead root cause investigations for non-compliance test results using data-driven analysis
• Utilize lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and digital multimeters for hardware validation
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 10+ years of experience in electronics characterization and validation testing
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals
• Hands-on experience with lab instrumentation and hardware debugging
• Experience with automotive ECUs and vehicle electrical systems
• Knowledge of communication buses such as CAN/LIN
• Experience with Python scripting and data analysis
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with low-level firmware and embedded systems
• Experience with C programming
• Knowledge of automated test equipment (ATE)
• Experience with Databricks or similar data analysis environments
• EV, Battery Management Systems (BMS), or Zonal ECU experience is highly preferred
Preferred Background:
Candidates with prior experience in automotive electronics, EV platforms, embedded hardware
