SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER – PANEL DESIGN & PROJECTS

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with 8–10 years of hands-on experience in Electrical Control Panel Design, PLC Panels, ACB Panels, Panel Assembly, Testing & Commissioning, and Client Handling.

The ideal candidate should be technically strong, capable of independently handling electrical panel projects from design stage to final testing and client approval, and should have practical knowledge of panel manufacturing and assembly processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Panel Design

- Design electrical control panels based on project requirements and approved specifications.
- Prepare and review Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Control Schematics, Power Wiring Diagrams and Panel GA drawings.
- Design and review PLC Control Panels, ACB Panels, MCC Panels, DOL/Starter Panels and other electrical control panels.
- Select appropriate electrical components such as ACB, MCCB, MCB, contactors, relays, PLC, SMPS, timers, overload relays, terminal blocks, meters and control devices.
- Prepare BOM / BOQ and component specifications.
- Perform load calculations, cable sizing, protection selection and control circuit design.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical standards and client specifications.

2. PLC Panel Engineering

- Develop and review PLC panel architecture and control philosophy.
- Understand PLC I/O requirements and assist in PLC hardware selection.
- Coordinate with PLC programmers for I/O mapping, control logic and panel requirements.
- Review PLC panel wiring, termination and interlocking requirements.
- Troubleshoot PLC panel-related electrical and control issues.

3. ACB Panel Design

- Design and review ACB incomer and outgoing feeder arrangements.
- Understand ACB protection functions, settings and interlocking requirements.
- Coordinate protection, metering and control requirements.
- Review busbar sizing, short-circuit considerations and panel configuration.
- Ensure proper integration of ACB, MCCB, meters, CTs, protection relays and control circuits.

4. Panel Assembly & Production Support

- Supervise and guide the panel assembly team.
- Verify component mounting, busbar arrangement, wiring, ferruling, termination and labeling.
- Check panel workmanship and ensure drawings are followed during assembly.
- Resolve technical issues arising during panel manufacturing.
- Coordinate with production and assembly teams for timely completion of projects.
- Conduct stage-wise inspection of panels.

5. Testing & Quality Control

- Conduct and supervise FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing).
- Perform continuity, insulation resistance, functional and interlock testing.
- Verify control circuit operation and protection functions.
- Check panel wiring against approved drawings.
- Prepare and maintain testing reports and inspection documents.
- Ensure panels meet approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.

6. Client Handling & Technical Coordination

- Communicate directly with clients, consultants and project teams.
- Attend technical discussions and client meetings.
- Understand client requirements and provide appropriate technical solutions.
- Handle technical queries, drawing approvals, inspections and modifications.
- Coordinate with consultants for drawing and technical approvals.
- Attend client inspections and FAT.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients and consultants.

7. Project Coordination

- Coordinate with Sales, Purchase, Design, Production, Stores, Quality and Service departments.
- Review project requirements before starting manufacturing.
- Monitor project progress and identify technical or material-related issues.
- Ensure projects are completed according to approved drawings and committed timelines.
- Provide technical support during installation and commissioning whenever required.

Educational Qualification

B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Candidates with strong practical experience in electrical panel manufacturing and project execution will be preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who is not only a drawing/design engineer, but a technically strong hands-on electrical engineer who understands how a panel is actually designed, manufactured, wired, tested and delivered to the client.

Candidates who have previously worked with Electrical Panel Manufacturers / System Integrators / Industrial Automation Companies / EPC Companies will be prefer.
