Electrical Engineer – SHOOT THE MOON ROCKET TECHNOLOGIES, INC.
Position Summary:
STMR is seeking a motivated and innovative Sr. Electrical Engineer to join our cutting-edge development team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the design, prototyping, assembly, testing, and debugging of advanced electronic systems, including high-speed, high-voltage, analog, and digital PCBs. This position offers the opportunity to work on state-of-the-art technologies in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where creativity and initiation are highly valued.
About STMR:
STMR develops advanced electromagnetic launch technology for applications in space launch and drone defense. As part of a family of innovative companies, we also create state-of-the-art LiDAR sensors and active suspension marine platforms that deliver smooth rides in challenging waters. Our team thrives on cutting-edge engineering and bold innovation.
Responsibilities and Roles:
· Design and test PCBs, including high-speed and high-voltage circuits, analog and digital systems.
· Create and maintain schematics, layouts, and BOMs using industry-standard PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer).
· Prototype, assemble, and test PCBs, including soldering and component-level debugging using oscilloscopes, signal generators, DMMs, and other lab instrumentation.
· Develop, simulate, and verify circuit designs using SPICE or equivalent tools.
· Program and integrate FPGAs, including logic design using Verilog or VHDL.
· Support and lead system-level testing and prototype integration, collaborating closely with other engineers and technicians.
· Debug complex systems, including software, hardware, and electromechanical interactions.
· Document test procedures, design revisions, and performance data to ensure design traceability.
Requirements:
· Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent degree.
· Proficiency in PCB design software, preferably Altium Designer/PADs.
· Programming experience in Verilog and C.
· Solid understanding of FPGA design and development.
· Familiarity with SPICE simulation tools for circuit verification.
· Strong understanding of electronics fundamentals, including analog and digital circuit theory.
· Hands-on experience with lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, soldering, etc.).
Nice to Haves:
· Experience with high-voltage or pulsed power systems.
· Knowledge of high-speed PCB design principles and signal integrity.
· Experience using mechanical design tools such as SolidWorks.
· Experience with system integration and multidisciplinary prototypes.
· Self-motivated and proactive, with a passion for innovation and new technology development.
· Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in an iterative, fast-moving R&D environment.
