Senior Electrical Engineer - Medical Device
Irvine, CA | Onsite 5x/week

About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on Senior Electrical Engineer to own the electronics design for our commercial and next-generation wearable device. You'll be the sole EE on the hardware team, working closely with mechanical and embedded software engineering to take designs from architecture through manufacturing.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants to be the person responsible for the hardware, not one of several engineers executing a shared roadmap.

What You'll Own
Schematic capture and PCB layout in Altium for a small form factor, battery-powered wearable device
High-density, high-complexity board design — rigid-flex construction, blind and buried vias, components down to 0201
Wireless integration (BLE module-based, not from-scratch stack development)
Basic motor control circuitry supporting precision drug delivery
Technical documentation, design reports, and protocols for internal stakeholders and external test labs
Cross-functional collaboration with mechanical and embedded software teams

Required
7+ years of hands-on electrical design experience, ideally in small form factor, battery-powered devices
Demonstrated ownership of PCB design from schematic through layout, including high-density boards (fine-pitch components, rigid-flex, blind/buried vias)
Proficiency in Altium Designer (strong Cadence experience considered)
Excellent written and verbal communication — comfortable authoring technical reports and communicating directly with external labs and upper management
Experience working independently with minimal oversight

Nice to Have
Wearable or implantable medical device experience
BLE/wireless module integration experience
IEC 60601 or equivalent compliance exposure
FDA design controls / 510(k) familiarity
