Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Designer with hands-on expertise in basic and detailed design across Infrastructure, Energy, and Mining & Metals projects. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Electrical Physical design principles, cross-discipline coordination, and exposure to Indian, US, European, and other international codes and standards.
Major Responsibilities
Generate 2-D plant layouts and drawings using MicroStation, AutoCAD, or SmartSketch from detailed 3-D CAD models with minimal guidance.
Work independently on 3-D CAD design models under the supervision of experienced designers.
Perform proficient S3D modelling — including equipment, raceway, grounding, and lighting.
Assist in constructing detailed models and participate in client model reviews.
Prepare design calculations applicable to the discipline.
Prepare bulk material quantity take-offs and material requisitions.
Review calculations, design models, drawings, and design documents prepared by others and by material suppliers.
Address queries from client or construction teams on design for assigned responsibilities.
Compile, maintain, and manage job drawing files, records, and drawing controls.
Coordinate with designers in other disciplines to align overall design and technical requirements.
Lead the technical work of less experienced designers and/or drafters within the team.
Education & Experience
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Electrical design.
Specialized courses in drafting, design and engineering practices, and CAD, or a recognized diploma.
Site experience will be an added advantag
Required Skills & Knowledge
Sound knowledge of CAD design and drafting using S3D, Revit, MicroStation, and/or AutoCAD.
Knowledge of raceway, lighting, grounding design, modelling, and cable sizing.
Familiarity with relevant design standards and guides; ability to read and interpret drawings from other project groups.
Knowledge of engineering and construction materials related to the discipline.
Experience with Navisworks for model review and clash detection; proficiency in SPR.
Ability to extract and prepare material quantity take-offs from design drawings.
Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, design criteria, and codes.
Basic understanding of technical responsibilities across other engineering disciplines.
Able to work effectively in a team and cross-functional environment.
Knowledge of Revit is an added advantage.
