Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer in Phoenix, AZ. Responsibilities may include:

Architect, design, develop, debug, deploy, and maintain electrical and electronic hardware for new and existing
Collaborate with other disciplines to design and develop high quality, highly reliable, easily maintainable hardware/systems with an emphasis on simplicity and time-to-market
Develop thorough design documentation
Develop and execute test procedures
Provide support for internal and external customers
Support and participate in the organization's Continual Improvement Program to conform to ISO 9001:2015 requirements by complying with the Quality Policy and procedures and meeting QMS objectives
Understand the implications of not conforming to QMS requirements
Other duties as assigned

Project Management - complete projects on time and within expected work hours
Customer Satisfaction - attain rating of meets or exceeds expectations

Requirements

Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field from a four-year college or university
Fifteen (15) years of professional electrical engineering, design and development experience
Experience developing electrical hardware in a cross-functional team
Knowledge of electrical, electronic, electromagnetic engineering design principles and the physics behind them
Knowledge of low-power real-time embedded system design (Cortex, MSP430, PIC a plus)
Knowledge of digital communication hardware and protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, IrDA, USB, Wi-Fi, RFID, TCP/IP, NFC, UWB)
Knowledge of related manufacturing and assembly processes
Knowledge of rechargeable battery technologies and power supply design
Skilled in analog/digital circuit design and analysis
Strong communication and strong, logical problem-solving skills
Strong design and troubleshooting skills
Attention to detail
Self-starter who thinks of innovative, faster ways to accomplish tasks
Consistently maintain a professional demeanor and appearance
Ability to recommend and justify the purchase of tools and equipment
Ability to prepare and verify detailed calculations, specification, and analysis
Ability to work with ambiguity
Ability to work independently and cooperatively while adhering to department operating rules and guidelines
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and activities
Ability to successfully complete projects/sub-projects within agreed upon deadlines

Solid PCB design experience, Flex PCB design experience a plus
Encryption hardware experience a plus
RF circuit design and FCC/IC experience a plus
Machine Learning experience a plus
Technical leadership a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
