Company: Radiant Enterprises
Location: GIDC Makarpura, vadodara
Experience: 5–10 Years in Instrument Transformer Design
Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering

Role Objective
The Design Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end electrical and mechanical design of Indoor/Outdoor Epoxy Resin Cast Current Transformers (CT) and Potential Transformers (PT) up to 33kV. This individual will lead the technical development of the new product line, ensuring compliance with international standards (IEC/IS) and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities
Electromagnetic Design: Perform core sizing, winding calculations, and flux density analysis to achieve required Accuracy Classes (0.2s, 0.5s, 5P20, etc.).
Insulation Coordination: Design the internal insulation layout to minimize electrical stress and ensure Partial Discharge (PD) levels are within limits (<10pC).
Technical Documentation: Create Manufacturing Drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), and Clearances/Creepage distance layouts using AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
Prototype Development: Oversee the fabrication of the first "Golden Samples," including core wrapping and winding configurations.
Testing & Validation: Lead type testing and routine testing (Ratio, Phase error, Impulse, STC) at in-house labs or third-party labs like CPRI/ERDA.
Process Integration: Work closely with the casting team to optimize the resin-filler mix for thermal dissipation around the windings.

Technical Skills Required
Design Expertise: Deep understanding of CRGO/Mu-metal core saturation and Knee Point Voltage (Vk) calculations.
Standards Knowledge: Thorough familiarity with IS 2705, IS 3156, and IEC 61869-1/2/3.
Software Proficiency: Experience with electromagnetic simulation software (like ANSYS Maxwell, QuickField, or proprietary design spreadsheets) and 2D/3D CAD.
Materials Science: Knowledge of enameled copper wire grades, insulating papers, and the interaction between epoxy resin and metal inserts.

Soft Skills & Experience
Problem Solver: Ability to troubleshoot "failure to meet accuracy" or "PD failure" during the prototyping phase.
OEM Experience: Candidates who have previously worked with major switchgear companies (ABB, Siemens, Schneider, CG) are highly preferred.
