If you’re a PE with geotechnical design-build experience and want a role where you can own both the technical work and influence project strategy, this is worth a conversation.
A reputable geotechnical contractor with a strong presence across Florida specializing in design-build foundation and earth retention systems. They’re growing their Orlando operation and looking to bring on a Senior Design Engineer who can play a key role in both design execution and front-end project development.
This is a high-impact position with visibility across design, estimating, and project delivery.
📍 Based in Orlando with projects across Florida
What You’ll Be Involved In
Design-build geotechnical and foundation systems including:
MSE / retaining walls
Temporary shoring and excavation support
Deep foundations (drilled shafts, driven piles, micropiles)
Ground improvement solutions
Supporting estimating, proposals, and technical solutions during pursuit phase
Working closely with operations to carry designs through construction
Key Responsibilities
Lead design for geotechnical and structural foundation systems
Prepare calculations, drawings, and technical submittals
Support estimating and value engineering efforts
Collaborate with PMs and field teams through project execution
Ensure compliance with FDOT standards and project specifications
Why This Role Stands Out
Design-build environment — see your designs get built
Strong pipeline of active and upcoming projects across Florida
Opportunity to play a key role in growing the Orlando operation
Direct exposure to estimating + project strategy, not just design
Clear path into leadership within a specialized contractor
This is a growth-driven hire, not a replacement.
What They’re Looking For
4+ years in geotechnical / foundation design-build
Strong experience with:
MSE walls and retaining systems
Shored excavations
Deep foundation systems
Working knowledge of FDOT specs and design requirements
PE license required (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
Comfortable balancing design, estimating, and collaboration
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive base salary (based on experience)
Vehicle allowance + gas card
Full benefits package
Long-term growth with a specialized, expanding contractor
