Senior Design Engineer

Role: Lead Engineer-Testing & Validation

To lead, design, and execute comprehensive testing and validation programs across industrial printing systems, CIJ printers, and emerging
product verticals including consumer and medical devices. The role is pivotal in building a structured Verification & Validation (V&V) lab capability
and establishing robust test engineering practices that ensure product quality, reliability, and regulatory readiness.
Key Responsibilities
A. Current Testing Operations
• Lead system-level functional testing for Industrial Print & Apply printer systems
• Design and execute reliability and regression test suites for CIJ printers
• Conduct ink range and ink compatibility testing — ink-substrate-environment interactions
• Maintain and improve existing test frameworks, fixtures, and test data documentation
• Analyse test results, root-cause failures, and drive corrective actions with cross-functional teams
• Own test traceability: requirements → test cases → results → defect tracking
B. V&V Lab Build-Up (New Capability)
• Establish a Verification & Validation lab for Industrial, Consumer, and Medical device product lines
• Define V&V strategy, test plans, and protocols aligned with applicable standards (IEC, ISO, UL, CE, BIS, etc.)
• Develop test case libraries and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Set up lab infrastructure: test benches, environmental chambers, fixtures, aware of data acquisition systems
• Implement Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) methodology for structured product validation
• Collaborate with design, firmware, and manufacturing teams to ensure Design for Testability (DfT)
C. Quality & Documentation
• Maintain comprehensive test documentation: test reports, failure analysis reports, FMEA inputs
• Ensure test processes are aligned with ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 quality system requirements where applicable
• Support internal and external audits with test documentation and evidence packages
• Track quality metrics: test escape rate, first-pass yield, MTBF, reliability indices, aware of DPMO
D. Team & Stakeholder Management
• Mentor and guide junior test engineers; build team competency in systematic testing
• Interface with product management, R&D for test-driven development
• Liaise with external labs, certification bodies, and vendors as required
• Support customer discussions on testing methodologies, validation findings, and lab capabilities
E. Capability Development
• Support expansion of testing capabilities into packaging testing, electronics/PCB validation, and medical device testing
• Assist in developing frameworks for Testing-as-a-Service (TaaS) to support internal and external testing engagements
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance test efficiency and reduce cycle time
F. Future Scope — Compliance & Regulatory Testing (Note)
• Serve as the internal subject matter expert for product compliance readiness: CE, BIS, UL, FCC, RoHS, REACH
• Build awareness of regulatory requirements for Medical devices (IEC 60601, ISO 13485, MDR if applicable) (This scope may be retained
