Data Analysis and Signal Processing: Analyze vehicle sensor data (e.g., CAN logs, IMU data, wheel speed sensors) to develop signal processing techniques for noise reduction and feature extraction.
Documentation and Reporting: Document the algorithm development process, including design choices, testing procedures, and results, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
Research and Innovation: Stay updated with the latest advancements in vehicle dynamics, sensor technology, and estimation techniques to incorporate new methods and improve existing algorithms.
Understand competitive landscape and ensure intellectual property (IP) protection through patent/trade secret applications and defensive publications.
Required Education And Experience
MS in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) and 6+ years of relevant experience
Deep expertise in vehicle dynamics and tire modeling topics
Strong interest in the future of personal mobility and commercial transport
Experience working across diverse cultural and geographic boundaries.
Experience leading technology development projects
Experience working on global teams, experience participating in external partnerships
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Comprehensive knowledge of the vehicle dynamics and tire mechanics topics for passenger cars, LCVs, and heavy-duty trucks
Extensive experience with vehicle dynamics modeling programs such as CarMaker, VI-Grade, Dymola, ADAMS or CarSim
Experience in Magic Formula tire models, FTire, MF-Swift, or CDTire Modeling experience
Knowledge of virtual sensing approaches (e.g., Kalman filtering) for vehicle dynamics.
Expert in solving complex technical problems
Demonstrated expertise in transferring technology to the point of use in products
Demonstrated ability to document standards / best practices
Ability to identify areas for future technology development to close competitive gaps
