About the Company
Inlighten Technologies is a Silicon Valley company developing next-generation microLED technologies for augmented reality (AR) and AI-powered smart glasses. Our mission is to push the limits of microLED performance and manufacturing, enabling scalable, mass-market production. Join us to help create the displays that will power the future of immersive computing.

Role Description
As a Semiconductor Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing, executing, and optimizing of wafer-level testing and metrology for microLED-based micro-displays used in advanced AR systems. This is a highly hands-on position involving CP testing, AOI characterization, ATE validation, and probe card design, with a strong focus on improving performance, yield, and product readiness.

Key Responsibilities
Develop, execute, and optimize wafer-level test solutions for microLED devices and micro-display wafers.
Design, specify, and support probe cards for wafer-level testing, including pad layout alignment, contact optimization, and current/optical performance requirements.
Collaborate with probe card vendors and internal teams on probe card debugging, qualification, and lifecycle management.
Perform AOI-based wafer characterization using CP test structures and AOI platforms (CP-tester / AOI systems).
Integrate and operate wafer-level probe cards, semiconductor test equipment, and instrumentation for CMOS/silicon wafer testing and device characterization.
Execute wafer-level electrical and optoelectronic testing using CP-testers/ATE.
Calibrate, maintain, and improve wafer-level test and probe equipment to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and low contact resistance.
Measure and analyze optical, optoelectronic, and electrical transport properties of microLED devices and micro-display modules.
Perform data analysis to identify performance trends, yield limitations, and systematic test or contact-related issues.
Drive root-cause analysis for test failures and yield loss related to devices, probe cards, or test setups.
Support test coverage optimization, test limit definition, and parametric test development.
Partner closely with process, device, product, reliability, and manufacturing engineering teams to improve yield, robustness, and manufacturability.
Provide test data, reports, and technical recommendations to support qualification, NPI, and volume production ramp.
Calibrate and maintain test equipment to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and compliance with GR&R (Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility) standards.
Perform statistical data analysis using Python, MATLAB, or JMP.
Document procedures, write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Aids, and drive continuous process improvement.
Available to travel internationally up to 20% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Physics, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related discipline.
Hands-on experience with wafer-level testing, including CP testing, AOI, and ATE platforms.
Proven experience in probe card design, specification, or support, including interaction with probe card suppliers.
Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics and microLED or optoelectronic device behavior.
Experience with optical and optoelectronic measurements (IV, luminance, efficiency, wavelength, uniformity, leakage, etc.).
Proficiency in data analysis and automation tools (Python, MATLAB, JMP, or similar).

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with microLED, display, or optoelectronic devices.
Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing (HVM) or NPI environments.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional engineering team.
Knowledge of color science, photometry, and optical metrology principles.
Strong hands-on experience with optical microscopy and imaging systems for high-resolution inspection and analysis.

Benefits & Perks
Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
401(k) retirement plan.
Paid holidays and vacation.
Employee stock option plan.
