About YST Semiconductor Technology
YST Semiconductor Technology is a fast-growing semiconductor startup developing advanced InP-based photonic devices for data center, fiber network, and AI infrastructure markets.
As we scale our manufacturing operations, we are building a collaborative, hands-on engineering team where early-career engineers can grow quickly, learn core semiconductor manufacturing processes, and make a meaningful impact in a fast-growing technology company.

Position Overview
We are seeking a Semiconductor Manufacturing & Testing Engineer to play a key role in building and scaling our manufacturing capabilities. This is a highly hands-on role focused on process ownership, equipment integration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement within a cleanroom environment.

This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in a startup setting and is excited to take ownership of both process development and tool readiness, helping bridge the gap between early-stage setup and full-scale production.

What You’ll Do

Process Development & Ownership
Design, develop, and optimize semiconductor manufacturing and packaging processes from concept through production
Lead process transfers, scale-up activities, and new process introductions
Establish process controls, SOPs, and best practices for stable, repeatable manufacturing
Equipment & Tooling Leadership
Lead installation, qualification, and ramp of semiconductor process and metrology tools
Coordinate with OEM vendors, contractors, and internal teams for tool setup and calibration
Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies and track equipment performance (uptime, MTBF, downtime)

Manufacturing Support & Troubleshooting
Provide hands-on support in the cleanroom to diagnose and resolve process and equipment issues
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions
Support production ramp and ensure manufacturing stability

Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement
Analyze production and process data to improve yield, throughput, and efficiency
Drive data-driven improvements and present insights to leadership

Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure adherence to cleanroom protocols, safety standards, and quality requirements
Support audits, investigations, and corrective actions

Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with operations, facilities, quality, and leadership teams
Support training of technicians and junior engineers
Contribute to building a strong engineering culture in a fast-paced startup environment

Documentation & Knowledge Management
Create and maintain SOPs, process documentation, and training materials
Ensure engineering knowledge is captured and scalable across the organization
