Job Summary
The Functional Safety Architect plays a key role in defining, analyzing, and validating safety concepts and architectures across embedded hardware and software systems. This role focuses on developing safety requirements, performing analyses, supporting implementation teams, and ensuring compliance with ISO 26262 or similar safety standards.
The Safety Architect collaborates with system, hardware, and software teams to deliver robust, certifiable solutions.
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent.
6-8 years of hands-on experience in functional safety related design and development for Tier 1 or Tier 2 Automotive Suppliers.
Strong concepts in Micro-controller and Micro-processor use-cases, applications and architecture for Automotive.
Good understanding of ISO26262 or IEC61508 based development lifecycle and safety work products.
Strong motivation to support customers.
Strong understanding of IP and SoC level Safety mechanisms
Hands on experience to Safety analysis tools like Medni for FTA, DFA and FMEDA.
Preferred
Experience in semiconductor product development
Experience in Safety Analysis Techniques (FTA, DFA, FMEDA) for semiconductors.
Experience in safety tools like Medini.
Experience with Safety Audits/Assessments.
Experience in requirements management tools like DoorsNG, ELM.
Experience in providing support to customers
Responsibilities
Contribute to the development of functional safety concepts and technical safety concepts
Contribute in capturing the requirements in requirements management tools
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure correct implementation of safety concepts.
Perform FTA, DFA and FMEDA
Contribute in the reviews of safety verification and validation plans.
Assist in audits, assessments, and internal safety reviews.
Supporting and enabling customers for various safety products at NXP including but not limited to providing customized solutions using NXP products.
