Lead Systems Engineer – Radar & Remote Sensing Technology

What You'll Be Doing
Systems Engineering & Architecture
Lead the development and analysis of advanced radar and remote sensing systems
Perform system-level modeling, simulation, and performance analysis
Develop system architecture, block diagrams, interface definitions, and technical documentation
Translate customer and program requirements into detailed subsystem requirements for hardware, firmware, and software teams
Develop and maintain compliance matrices to ensure complete requirements traceability
Verification & Validation
Create comprehensive verification and validation plans for systems and subsystems
Lead verification testing activities and analyze test results
Ensure technical performance objectives are achieved throughout the product lifecycle
Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis during development and testing
Program Leadership
Develop and maintain engineering schedules and milestones
Identify risks and implement creative workarounds to keep programs on schedule
Collaborate across multiple disciplines to ensure successful execution
Serve as a technical resource and mentor for junior engineers
Innovation & Business Growth
Stay current on emerging technologies, industry trends, and competitive products
Research and evaluate new technical approaches that enhance company capabilities
Contribute to technical publications, white papers, and marketing articles
Identify and support proposal opportunities for future business development efforts
Help grow the engineering organization through mentoring and future hiring initiatives
What We're Looking For
Master's Degree in Engineering with emphasis in Remote Sensing, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline
10+ years of experience in radar systems, remote sensing, aerospace, defense, or advanced sensing technologies
Strong systems engineering background with experience in requirements development, architecture, verification, and validation
Experience with software and firmware development processes
Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering efforts
Strong communication and technical documentation skills
Ability to balance hands-on engineering work with strategic leadership responsibilities
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $100,000 - $140,000+ depending on experience, education, and technical expertise

Location
This position is based in Longmont, Colorado and requires an onsite presence. Due to the collaborative nature of the work and the size of the engineering organization, candidates must be able to work in the office a minimum of 40 hours per week, five days per week.
