Job Description
AstroForge is excited to announce an opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our team as a Radio Frequency Engineer. The selected candidate will be an expert in antenna engineering, RF design, high-frequency systems, high-power amplifiers (PA), low-noise amplifiers (LNA), microwave engineering, and front-end development.
Responsibilities
Designing RF hardware for satellite-to-earth ground station communication, focusing on S-band and/or X-band radio frequencies.
Board design, operation of RF test equipment, and testing and analyzing RF performance.
Designing a S-band radio sub-system for Mission 3 and future missions.
Collaborating with the team to ensure effective communication subsystem design.
Evaluation of space links and trade studies, including detailed link budgets.
Lead RF Compatibility Testing in factory and at field sites.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Proven experience in RF hardware design, particularly in S-band and/or X-band radios.
Proficiency in operating RF test equipment and analyzing RF performance.
Ability to quantify and trade the performance and suitability of microwave receivers, transmitters, transponders, antennas, amplifiers, and transmission paths using sound microwave engineering principles.
Detailed knowledge of modulation and coding standards used in space communications.
Proven experience with Software Defined Radio frameworks and development of SDR solutions.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work onsite in Seal Beach, CA.

Level II: $118,000 - $142,500
Level III: $138,000 - $171,500
Level IV: $168,000 - $185,500
