RF Bench Test Engineer Wireless & RF Semiconductor Validation
Location: Coimbatore, Bengaluru, India
Work Mode: Onsite
Experience: 3 -10 Years
Role Overview
We are looking for an RF Bench Test Engineer with experience in RF semiconductor validation, characterization, and laboratory testing. The role involves developing RF bench validation setups, performing first silicon bring-up, executing RF characterization, and supporting engineering validation for wireless semiconductor products. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to validate RF performance, debug hardware issues, and automate validation workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, integrate, and debug RF bench validation setups for wireless semiconductor devices.
Perform first silicon bring-up, engineering validation, functional verification, and RF characterization.
Design and validate RF evaluation boards, interface boards, shield boxes, switch matrices, and custom validation fixtures.
Execute RF transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) performance measurements including Output Power, Gain, EVM, ACPR, Receiver Sensitivity, Blocking, BER, Phase Noise, and Harmonics.
Validate RF technologies including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/GNSS, NFC, UWB, Zigbee, LoRa, and Cellular (4G/5G).
Perform antenna characterization, RF front-end validation, impedance matching verification, and S-Parameter measurements.
Conduct interoperability, compliance, environmental, thermal, and regression testing.
Capture and analyze RF waveforms, modulation quality, spectrum behavior, and protocol performance.
Develop automation scripts for RF instrument control, characterization, regression execution, and reporting.
Debug hardware, firmware, software, silicon, and board-level RF issues.
Prepare validation procedures, engineering reports, and technical documentation.
Collaborate with RF Design, Firmware, Embedded Software, PCB Design, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, and Customer Engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering (EIE), Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, VLSI Design, Microelectronics, Semiconductor Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
3 -10 years of experience in RF semiconductor bench validation, characterization, or laboratory validation.
Hands-on experience with RF bench setup development and RF performance validation.
Experience working with wireless semiconductor products and RF laboratory equipment.
