Overview
We’re partnering with a well-funded applied AI research lab to hire a Research Engineer focused on building next-generation systems for interactive 3D environments.
This team is working on advancing AI beyond traditional 2D interfaces into fully interactive, persistent 3D worlds. Their work spans perception, reasoning, and generation in dynamic environments, with applications across simulation, design, and interactive entertainment.
Their initial focus is on gaming—developing technology that enables users to generate, explore, and share immersive 3D worlds with minimal technical friction.

Built a high-caliber applied AI team with experience across large-scale model training, agent systems, and consumer products
Established partnerships with hundreds of gaming and livestream creators, reaching a combined audience of hundreds of millions
Secured backing from top-tier investors and operators across AI, defense tech, and consumer platforms
Acquired and scaled consumer products with millions of users

About the Role
You will work at the intersection of applied AI and large-scale systems, contributing to core infrastructure and research that powers real-time 3D world generation.
Key areas of focus include:
Designing distributed multi-agent systems for coordinated world synthesis (terrain, assets, behaviors)
Building reinforcement learning pipelines for adaptive, open-ended environment generation
Developing agentic code generation and diffusion-based tooling for high-quality simulated environments
Optimizing training and inference pipelines for real-time performance at scale

Your work will directly contribute to systems that enable users to create, interact with, and monetize dynamic 3D environments.

What We’re Looking For
Strong software engineering fundamentals, with the ability to move between research and production systems
Experience working with large-scale machine learning systems (multimodal, generative, or agent-based)
Familiarity with distributed systems, training pipelines, or large-scale data processing
Experience in computer vision, 3D pipelines, or simulation environments

Nice to Have
Experience training or fine-tuning diffusion or generative vision models
Background in reinforcement learning, robotics, or multi-agent systems
Familiarity with game engines or 3D simulation frameworks
Prior work on world models or interactive AI systems
