Saint Gobain, a global leader in the Habitat Business, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in the creation and development of innovative hardware products. This role involves close collaboration with R&D teams both locally and globally.
Individual will be contributing to system‑level product innovation in the Glass Systems & Solutions domain. The role merges customer connect, engineering design, prototyping, and customer‑centric problem‑solving, and requires the ability to work with team to deliver multiple projects end‑to‑end while exploring new methodologies, technologies, and design solutions.
The engineer collaborates with cross‑functional teams, customers, vendors, machinists, and global R&D teams to develop differentiated solutions on/in glass systems such as railings, partitions, shower systems, windows, shutters, and integrated hardware.
This role demands strong systems engineering expertise, and the ability to conceptualize, validate, and deploy innovative architectures and components.
Key Responsibilities

Independently perform most technical tasks, leading the design and development of system‑level solutions for glass applications.

Apply scientific research methods, analytical reasoning, and design of scientifically testable hypotheses for new design concepts.

Propose alternate methods, tools, and strategies for complex technical challenges.

Experience & Qualification
M.Tech in Mechanical/Systems/Design Engineering with 8–10 years relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience in design–analysis–prototype loop, customer‑interaction, and independent project ownership.
Demonstrated experience in system development &/or leading product launches.
Travel Requirement
Travel up to 20–30% for customer interactions, testing, vendor visits, and factory trials.
