Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to support and improve the reliability, performance, and maintenance effectiveness of critical manufacturing assets within a heavy industrial environment. This individual will play a key role in driving equipment uptime, reducing unplanned downtime, and improving overall asset health through preventative maintenance strategies, root cause analysis, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
The ideal candidate will possess strong experience supporting large-scale rotating equipment and have a proven ability to identify and resolve chronic equipment failures and operational bad actors within an industrial manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, improve, and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs for critical plant assets
Analyze equipment failures and recurring maintenance issues to improve overall asset reliability and reduce downtime
Lead and facilitate Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations for rotating and fixed equipment failures
Identify and prioritize equipment “bad actors” using reliability data, downtime trends, maintenance history, and operational performance metrics
Support maintenance and operations teams with troubleshooting of critical plant equipment and systems
Improve maintenance strategies and spare parts optimization for critical assets
Utilize CMMS systems to analyze equipment history, maintenance trends, and reliability KPIs
Support predictive maintenance technologies including vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, and condition monitoring programs
Partner closely with maintenance, operations, engineering, and leadership teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives
Participate in equipment reliability reviews, shutdown planning, and capital improvement projects
Assist with development of maintenance procedures, reliability standards, and best practices across the facility
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline preferred, but experience will be taken in substitute of a degree.
Minimum of 5+ years of Reliability Engineering experience within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
Strong background supporting large-scale rotating equipment such as:
Pumps, Compressors, Turbines, Gearboxes, Blowers, Motors, Fans
Proven experience with preventative maintenance and reliability-centered maintenance methodologies
Strong Root Cause Analysis and troubleshooting experience
Experience identifying and improving chronic equipment bad actors
Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies and condition monitoring programs
Experience utilizing CMMS systems
Strong understanding of industrial maintenance and manufacturing processes
Excellent communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
Vibration Analysis Certification
Experience with lubrication reliability and oil analysis programs
Experience within chemical, petrochemical, refining, steel, mining, pulp & paper, power generation, or other heavy industrial environments
