RF Test Engineer Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated RF Test Engineer to support the development and validation of advanced RF and microwave semiconductor devices, including Integrated Passive Devices (IPD) and System-in-Package (SiP) solutions. This role is responsible for designing, automating, and executing test strategies to ensure product performance, reliability, and quality. The ideal candidate combines strong RF fundamentals with hands-on lab experience and the ability to analyze and communicate complex data effectively. This position plays a critical role in bridging product development and manufacturing.
RF Test Engineer Responsibilities
Develop and execute test plans for RF components such as filters, couplers, inductors, and capacitors
Design and build test setups, fixtures, and hardware for wafer-level and packaged device testing
Perform RF measurements using equipment such as vector network analyzers, source meters, and digital multimeters
Automate test procedures and data collection using Python or similar scripting tools to improve efficiency and consistency
Analyze test data to evaluate device performance, identify issues, and recommend improvements
Collaborate with design, applications, and manufacturing teams to define test requirements and ensure alignment
Support wafer acceptance testing and production-level test processes
Assist with prototype builds and new product introduction (NPI) activities, including module and SMT assembly as needed
Document test methodologies, results, and findings through reports, technical papers, and presentations
Communicate results and insights to internal teams, leadership, and customers
RF Test Engineer Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
5+ years of hands-on RF testing experience
Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, including S-parameters, calibration, and deembedding techniques
Experience using RF test equipment, especially vector network analyzers (VNAs)
Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages for test automation and data analysis
Experience with wafer probing and semiconductor test environments preferred
Familiarity with RF simulation tools such as AWR, ADS, HFSS, or CST is a plus
Knowledge of reliability testing and failure analysis methodologies is desirable
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Must meet ITAR/EAR requirements (U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required)
