Ready to lead the charge in revolutionizing airborne RF systems and securing critical funding for cutting-edge technology?
Job Description:
We are a fast-growing technology innovator solving tough, mission-critical challenges in the aerospace, defense, and commercial markets. Our Advanced Systems Team is seeking an exceptional Senior Research Scientist with a strong EE/RF background to join us in Los Angeles, CA.
In this role, you won't just be executing tasks; you'll be a key player in our agile team, driving innovation from concept to proof-of-concept. You will be instrumental in securing funding through persuasive proposal writing (SBIRs/BAAs) and then bringing those ideas to life in the lab. If you thrive in a dynamic environment where you can "drink from the firehose" and make a tangible impact on cutting-edge airborne systems, we want you on our team.
Responsibilities:
Lead the creation of new concept and architecture designs for RF sensing and processing components, taking ideas from simulation to laboratory proof-of-concept.
Craft compelling, persuasive proposals (such as SBIRs and BAAs) to secure funding for innovative research and development projects.
Collaborate closely with a tight-knit team of scientists and hardware/software engineers to brainstorm, evaluate, and develop novel RF solutions.
Apply your expertise in RF design, programming, and modeling tools (like Ansys and Microwave Office) to advance cutting-edge technology for integration into airborne platforms.
Qualifications:
A PhD in Applied/Experimental Physics, RF Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
1-8+ years of experience in RF and communication components/system design, development, and laboratory prototyping.
A proven track record of persuasive technical writing, specifically in crafting successful proposals for government or defense funding.
Hands-on experience building RF systems and a strong understanding of analog and digital RF communication systems and protocols.
The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative onsite environment in Torrance, CA.
Join a team that values innovation, rewards risk-taking, and delivers industry-disrupting products. We offer a highly competitive compensation package ($130,000-$180,000+ base), comprehensive benefits including 4 weeks of PTO, a 401(k) with 100% matching up to 4%, and relocation assistance for the right candidate. If you're ready to make an impact and shape the future of airborne technology, apply now!
