Required Skills & Experience
• 3+ years of experience in RF/wireless design for consumer or embedded hardware products
• Strong experience with wireless technologies such as WiFi, LTE, Bluetooth, or GPS
• Solid understanding of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design
• Experience debugging RF systems, including desense and interference issues
• Hands-on experience with PCB layout and schematic design
• Familiarity with RF simulation tools (Ansys, Keysight ADS)
• Experience using RF lab equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, etc.)
• Understanding of EMI/EMC, ESD, and RF signal routing best practices

Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience performing RF testing such as TRP, TIS, or Rate vs Range measurements
• Familiarity with tools such as CMW500 or near-field probes
• Experience working on highly integrated hardware or electromechanical systems
• FAA Part 107 certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days)

Job Description
A leading autonomous drone technology company is seeking an RF Design Engineer to support the development of next-generation wireless systems powering advanced aerial platforms. This role will focus on designing and optimizing RF systems that enable reliable connectivity, high bandwidth, and long-range communication for highly integrated hardware products.
The RF Design Engineer will work cross-functionally with electrical engineering, antenna, and product development teams to define system requirements, design wireless solutions across multiple frequency bands, and troubleshoot RF performance issues. This role will also be responsible for identifying interference sources, supporting system integration efforts, and ensuring RF performance meets product requirements from concept through production.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with wireless system design, RF debugging, and test equipment, along with a strong understanding of RF fundamentals and real-world system integration challenges.
This is a full-time onsite position in San Mateo, CA supporting cutting-edge autonomous hardware development.

$147,500 – $240,000 base + equity + full benefits
