JAKTOOL is looking for a hands-on entry level Quality Engineer to support precision inspection and validation of complex machined components. This role is focused on CMM programming, dimensional inspection, and first-article verification in a prototype environment. You will work directly with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure components meet strict quality and performance requirements.
Duties And Responsibilities
Program and operate CMM equipment for inspection and data collection
Perform first article inspections (FAI) and detailed dimensional layouts
Inspect precision machined components with tight tolerances and complex geometries
Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and model-based definitions
Collaborate with machinists and engineers to resolve dimensional issues
Develop and improve inspection and metrology processes
Analyze measurement data and provide actionable feedback
Support compliance with aerospace and DoD quality standards
Utilize standard inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, height gages, etc.)
Required Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
Internships or work experience in metrology, quality inspection, or CMM programming
Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
Desire to work in a hands-on role. This is not a desk job!
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience
Experience with PC-DMIS
Background in aerospace, defense, or prototype manufacturing
Experience with first article inspection
Familiarity with tight-tolerance machining environments
