About The Role

The QA Engineer role at RogueThink is a full-time position based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, offering a hybrid work environment with on-site presence in Crystal City or Rosslyn, VA, and remote flexibility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both manual and automated testing, with experience in designing and maintaining test frameworks for complex applications. This role requires active U.S. Government Secret clearance or above and involves working closely with development teams, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure the highest quality standards for mission-critical applications.

The QA Engineer will be responsible for developing comprehensive test plans, executing manual and automated tests, analyzing requirements, and tracking defects. They will play a key role in integrating testing processes into CI/CD pipelines, advocating for best practices, and continuously improving testing methodologies. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-visibility projects supporting national security and intelligence efforts while advancing professional skills in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

Strong background in both test automation and manual testing
Experience designing and maintaining automated test frameworks for functional, regression, and integration testing
Experience analyzing requirements and user stories to develop comprehensive test plans and cases
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
Active U.S. Government Secret clearance or above
Must reside in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and be able to work on-site in Crystal City or Rosslyn, VA

Preferred Qualifications

Experience testing .NET web applications integrated with Oracle databases
Experience with performance and load testing tools
Experience supporting secure or U.S. Government environments

Responsibilities

Collaborate with functional and development teams to identify, document, and execute test cases
Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for functional, regression, and integration testing
Execute manual test cases for new features, edge cases, and scenarios where automation is impractical
Perform exploratory testing to identify usability, performance, and reliability issues
Analyze requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to create detailed test plans and cases
Report, track, and verify defects using issue management systems
Partner with developers and DevOps engineers to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
Provide comprehensive test documentation, metrics, and quality reports to stakeholders
Advocate for quality engineering practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes
Develop, implement, and maintain testing best practices to enhance product quality
Ensure adherence to testing standards across all scrum teams
Continuously evaluate and improve testing methodologies to stay aligned with technological advancements
Manage the maintenance and enhancement of regression test suites to ensure ongoing product stability

Benefits

Competitive salary range of $117,000 - $135,000 per year, commensurate with experience and clearance level
