The compensation for this role is $100,000 to $140,000 annually based on experience.
This position requires a U.S Person or a person who can qualify for a Department of State or Department of Commerce License.
Position Summary:
The QA Engineer, Sr plays a key role in driving product excellence and customer satisfaction by leading quality initiatives and resolving complex challenges. This includes collaboration with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers while shaping best practices in compliance, testing, and inspections. The Senior QA Engineer also mentors junior team members and have the opportunity to influence quality strategy across the organization.
Key Position Accountabilities:
Provide day-to-day Quality Assurance Engineering support to all areas of the company (Manufacturing, Engineering, Product Development, Procurement, and Product Assurance). This includes the timely resolution of production issues in an effort to support the on-time and cost-efficient shipment of quality products.
Establish and maintain quality planning procedures. Ensure that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards, are properly documented to assure uniformity, and communicated to appropriate parties.
Resolve quality issues/discrepancies to full resolution. This includes, but not limited to, cross-functional teams and communication with suppliers and customers.
Responsible for understanding customer performance/quality requirements, measuring our performance against these requirements, and communicating to appropriate parties.
Perform internal audits of department processes and procedures.
Analyze and investigate the root cause of non-conforming product deficiencies. This encompasses generating and analyzing of failure analysis reports, review of parts, manufacturing processes, RMAs, materials issues, development of disposition, corrective and preventative actions, and verification of their effectiveness.
Review specification control drawings and generate quality plans (PAP, PPAP).
Assist Incoming Inspection with material disposition and Material Review Reports.
Review/approve engineering change notices, manufacturing processes, and SOP’s to insure compliance and up-to-date.
Plan, monitor and track product qualification testing per customer specifications or DDC’s internal procedures.
Contribute technical input, as well as material and labor cost estimates in support of tactical business opportunities and proposals.
Perform Source Inspection at vendor sites, and support customer Source Inspection at DDC, as needed.
Travel
Provide training, mentorship, and coaching to junior members of the Quality Assurance team to ensure their continuous development and alignment with company quality standards, processes, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in appropriate Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, or Applied Sciences is desired. Six Sigma knowledge a plus.
Minimum 7 years related Quality Assurance Engineering experience.
Knowledge of quality, military, and industry standards AS9100, MIL-PRF-38534, MIL-STD-883, and/or IPC-A-610 desired.
Demonstrated ability to develop, analyze, articulate and present technical information in both written and verbal forms.
Demonstrated ability to develop excellent working relationships with management, customers, and vendors.
Excellent project and time management skills.
Work Environment:
This position requires access to a cleanroom environment. In order to promote an environment with a low level of airborne environmental pollutants employees must at all times adhere to company procedures.
The cleanroom area is accessed via an air shower wearing an ESD lab coat and hair net
