About The Role

The QE Automation Engineer role at LTIMindtree involves designing, developing, and executing both manual and automated tests for web and API applications. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, define test strategies early in the software development lifecycle, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. This position requires active participation in all Scrum activities, including test planning, estimation, and release management. The QE Automation Engineer will also contribute to the continuous improvement of testing standards and practices, integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, and analyze test results to identify root causes and actionable insights. The role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to upskill in AI-assisted testing tools, data-driven quality metrics, and intelligent automation concepts, fostering growth in emerging testing technologies.

Qualifications

Solid understanding of software testing fundamentals, test design techniques, and SDLC/STLC methodologies
Experience testing web applications and APIs (REST, JSON, Postman, etc.)
Proficiency with automation tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, or similar
Strong programming or scripting skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or equivalent
Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar
Knowledge of SQL for database testing and data validation
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Willingness to learn and adapt to new testing tools and methodologies, including AI-assisted testing and intelligent automation

Responsibilities

Design, develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated tests for web and API applications
Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies, including test planning, estimation, and release activities
Execute functional, regression, integration, and smoke tests to ensure software quality
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and define effective test strategies early in the SDLC
Analyze test results, identify root causes, and document defects with clear, actionable insights
Enhance CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated testing frameworks into build and deployment workflows
Contribute to documentation, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives within the testing domain
Stay current with emerging testing tools and techniques, including AI‑assisted testing, data‑driven metrics, and intelligent automation concepts
