Summary

"We are seeking a creative and driven Designer to join our dynamic team at Tron Solar, located in the heart of our operations. In this role, you will to help optimize and value-engineer solar + storage projects, support permitting and interconnections, and provide technical backup throughout the design → build → operate lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities-

1. Design & Drafting:
Analyzation of onsite survey
Use site information to create drafting request for construction planset including validation of parameters, and code correct installation
Review and maintain revision control and drawing standards.
Assemble complete plan sets (PV + ESS) and update from redlines.
Optimize and value engineer PV + ESS designs for cost, performance, and constructability.
Ensure designs are compliant with NEC, UL9540/9540A, and utility requirements.

2. Permitting & Utility Interconnection:
Assist permit and interconnection application teams by providing technical details and supporting documentation (SCE, PWP, etc.).

3. Project Coordination:
Work with internal teams (sales, PM, install crews) and external partners (developers, GCs).
Provide technical responses to field team questions during installation.
Support smooth handoff from design to construction.

4. Operations & Maintenance Support:
Provide documentation and technical support to maintenance team for O&M of existing company-built portfolio.
Update as-builts and record drawings to ensure serviceability.

Qualifications-

1–3+ years in PV/ESS design, drafting, or electrical design; OR relevant certificate/degree.
Hands on field experience in the electrical industry.
Familiarity with NEC Articles 690/705/706, and interconnection methods (bus tap, supply-side, meter adapter).
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Strong written communication, detail orientation, and ability to manage multiple submittals.
Valid driver’s license for occasional site visits.

Nice to Have: NABCEP PV Associate, Enphase/Tesla storage experience, Spanish proficiency, field/installation background, Electrical license.
