Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Rail Project Engineer to design and lead rail projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of railroad design, grading, rail layout, rail corridors, federal and state regulations, and a strong competency in CAD. This role will involve strengthening client relationships, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring successful project delivery.
What are the core responsibilities for the role?
Lead design efforts for and support Project Managers manage an array of small to large rail projects simultaneously.
Assist the Project Manager assign and train junior staff to work proficiently in CAD to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
Attend client meetings and support the strengthening of client relationships by contributing to meetings and delivering projects successfully.
Coordinate with governing agencies across multiple states to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Implement quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures throughout project development.
Work closely with Project Managers to gain deeper understanding of business practices and grow into Project management.
Travel occasionally to rail project sites, in person client meeting, and industry conferences.
Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in rail, transit or site development projects.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Commitment to actively contributing to a dynamic and employee-owned culture.
