Job Title: Project Engineer (P.E)
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Salary: $160K + Benefits
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established General Contractor based in Brooklyn that specializes in heavy civil infrastructure projects throughout New York City, including extensive MTA work.
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Engineer (P.E.) to support the successful delivery of complex transportation and public works projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected contractor with a strong pipeline of high-profile infrastructure work.
Responsibilities:
Support the planning, coordination, and execution of heavy civil construction projects
Assist Project Managers with scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and subcontractor coordination
Review engineering drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals
Coordinate with owners, agencies, consultants, and field teams
Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with contract documents and safety standards
Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and change orders
Participate in meetings with MTA representatives and other public agencies
Help ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget
Requirements:
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) required
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction
Previous experience on MTA, transit, bridge, tunnel, roadway, or public infrastructure projects strongly preferred
Strong understanding of construction methods, project controls, and scheduling
Proficiency with Primavera P6, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office is preferred
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced construction environment
