We’re working with a global manufacturer in the Spartanburg area seeking a Project Engineer focused on driving capital projects, equipment installs, and plant improvements within a high-volume production environment. This role is centered around project execution and coordination, working across the plant to move projects forward, solve problems, and ensure successful implementation from concept through startup.
What You’ll Be Doing
Drive capital projects from early planning and budgeting support through installation, startup, and final validation
Coordinate across production, maintenance, quality, and external vendors to keep projects on track and moving forward
Manage equipment installs, new production lines, and process startup activities
Lead internal projects such as equipment moves, layout changes, and plant improvements
Oversee contractors and vendors on-site, including scheduling, safety, and quality of execution
Track timelines, budgets, and key milestones — proactively communicating updates, risks, and delays
Support troubleshooting and issue resolution during installation and startup by working with the appropriate technical teams
Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, automation, and cost savings over time
What We’re Looking For
Engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or similar)
2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (co-op or internship experience considered if hands-on)
Exposure to projects involving equipment installs, process improvements, automation, or plant changes
Strong communication and coordination skills, able to work across multiple teams, follow up, and keep projects moving
Ability to manage timelines and communicate project status clearly (experience using project tracking tools or timelines is a plus)
Comfortable working in a hands-on, plant-floor environment
Ability to read electrical schematics and work with technical teams to resolve issues
Familiarity with CAD and general engineering design concepts
Exposure to PLC systems a plus (Allen Bradley / RSLogix)
If you’re an engineer who enjoys working with people, taking ownership of projects, and being the person who keeps things moving from start to finish, we’d love to connect.
This is a full-time on-site role based in the Spartanburg, SC area and requires a daily commute. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
