A growing industrial automation and controls organization is seeking a Project Engineer to support custom automation, control panel, and systems integration projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing technical problem solving with customer interaction, project coordination, and quoting responsibilities.
This is not a highly specialized Controls Engineering position. Instead, the company is looking for someone with practical exposure to industrial automation and controls who can effectively communicate with customers, coordinate projects, and support solutions from concept through implementation.
Responsibilities
Manage multiple automation and controls projects from quoting through completion
Coordinate project scope, schedules, costs, and customer communication
Support custom control panel and automation system projects
Assist with project evaluations, startup support, and occasional field service activities
Create bills of materials and assist with technical documentation
Partner with internal sales teams, vendors, and integrators to deliver customer solutions
Provide technical support and labor estimates for customer projects
Build and maintain strong customer and partner relationships
Desired Skills And Experience
2+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls, motion control, or related engineering/project environments
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred
Experience with PLCs, motion control, motor controls, or industrial automation systems
Strong communication and customer-facing skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities
Experience with quoting, project coordination, or customer support is highly preferred
Exposure to control panels, electrical systems, or automation equipment preferred
Ability to travel occasionally for customer visits and project support
