Here’s What You’ll Be Doing
Driving Solution Delivery: Serving as a crucial link between engineering, commercial, and customer-facing teams to deliver advanced power generation solutions across industrial, commercial, and distributed energy applications. This role is responsible for executing the engineering and integration of the core power module solution and associated balance of plant components—including power conversion, fuel handling systems, and controls—throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial scope definition to final commissioning.
External & Internal Support: Providing support to both internal teams and external partners by ensuring timely delivery, technical compliance, and seamless integration of power modules into customer facilities.
Project Execution Leadership: Leading cross-functional project execution for power module installations, encompassing site structural, mechanical, electrical, thermal, and controls engineering aspects.
System Design & Deployment Management: Overseeing site-specific design and deployment of comprehensive Balance of Plant (BOP) systems, including:
Power electronics (e.g., inverters, converters, grid connection components)
Electrical interfaces and distribution systems
Fuel delivery and management systems
Controls and monitoring systems
Requirements Definition: Collaborating with application engineering teams to finalize project scopes, proposals, and customer technical requirements.
Technical Documentation: Developing and reviewing engineering drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), electrical schematics, and site installation plans.
Third-Party Coordination: Managing external vendors for auxiliary equipment and subcontractor installation scopes, ensuring site readiness (e.g., utility connections).
Testing & Quality Assurance: Supporting Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) processes, including checklist development, troubleshooting, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) documentation.
Commissioning & Support: Providing on-site and remote commissioning assistance and troubleshooting for system deployments.
Compliance Assurance: Ensuring system installations meet relevant regulatory, safety, and environmental standards (e.g., national electrical codes, safety certifications, environmental protection agency guidelines).
Stakeholder Relations: Maintaining strong relationships with customer engineering teams and acting as a primary technical contact for project execution.
Continuous Improvement: Documenting lessons learned, change orders, and continuous improvement feedback to inform future product enhancements.
Process Development: Contributing to the development of standard project templates, procedures, and knowledgebase content.
Here’s What Our Ideal Candidate Has
Industry Experience (Must-Have): Background in the solar, battery storage, or distributed energy sectors.
Core Background (Ideal): Experience as a construction or electrical project engineer with customer-facing engineering responsibilities.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Ability to manage technical, procurement, and logistical aspects across a project.
Customer Engagement: Approximately 30-40% of time spent directly interacting with customers.
Travel Readiness: Willingness to travel between 25-40%.
Technical Aptitude: Strong mechanical understanding and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Project Engineering Tenure: 7+ years in project engineering roles related to distributed energy systems, generator systems, or industrial equipment.
Integrated Systems Knowledge: Experience integrating multi-disciplinary systems (mechanical, electrical, thermal, and control systems).
Power Technology Understanding: Knowledge of fuel-based generator systems, combined heat and power (CHP), or emerging power technologies is a strong plus.
System Engineering Familiarity (Preferred):
Familiarity with power systems engineering, including three-phase systems, protection schemes, and inverters.
Experience with distributed generation projects using natural gas, hydrogen, or renewable fuels.
Understanding of emissions requirements and permitting processes for stationary generators.
Hands-on experience with commissioning and startup of energy equipment.
Proficiency in design platforms such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
Key Attributes: Strong problem-solving mindset and detail orientation. Ability to translate technical requirements into actionable field and design tasks. Excellent communication skills for collaboration across engineering, commercial, and operations teams. Comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environments. Commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Academic Background
Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical engineering or a related technical field is required.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time, salaried position, operating in both office environments and with exposure to operations, warehouses, and production settings.
Ability to travel up to 25%.
