Position Summary:
The Project Engineer will have a major role in product development/program management for various automotive OEM and tier 1 customers in our washer nozzle and fluid delivery engineering group.
The position requires a dynamic, hard-working individual with superior problem solving, innovative design, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in plastic injection molding, tube routing, and Catia V5 or NX is a definite plus.

Responsibilities:
The engineer manages the project from initial design concept through production ensuring project objectives are met.
Support business development with Sales by working directly with customer engineering, and internal and external manufacturing teams to develop and specify the product.
Complete product design (models and drawings) meeting customer requirements, and internal best practices for product quotes and releases into internal and customer CAD systems.
Become subject matter expert to provide exceptional customer support and robust designs.
Provide customer support for technical challenges related to product and manufacturing.
Manages multiple projects simultaneously, communicate project and task status to management and critical project stakeholders, and escalates concerns when appropriate.
Maintain accurate product development records, including creating and supporting APQP documentation.
Work in conjunction with the project team to develop the PPAP documentation. Review the documents with the customer and update accordingly.
Practice effective team skills by sharing learned knowledge with the group.
Staying abreast of relevant new technology and competitive product.
Maintain a working knowledge of thermoplastics and their applications in our product lines Maintaining a clean and safe work area.
Travel as required to interface with customer engineering and manufacturing bases.

Education and Experience Requirements:
BS in Mechanical or Automotive engineering
Legally authorized to work in the United States
2-5 years of experience and a working knowledge of Solid Modelling
Analytical/technical skills with a practical approach to problem solving
Interpersonal communication, both written & oral presentation skills
Organizational skills - able to prioritize responsibilities and exercise good judgment

Working Conditions:
Occasionally lifts up to 30 pounds and frequently carries up to 15 pounds.
Maneuvers in, around, and about factory and/or laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis.
Some of work time is spent standing, walking, lifting, and bending. Works at telephone answering equipment, design equipment, and at a PC.
Works within an engine components manufacturing, office, and laboratory setting and is exposed to heat, cold, wet, and fumes/chemicals.

Physical Requirements:
Standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching and climbing stairs for long periods of time
Working in manufacturing, laboratory and/or office environments
Lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs
Pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs
Use of hands and legs
Traveling for extended periods or routine – flexible work schedule driven by unforeseen events/timing
Speak clearly, oral communication and hearing conversation
