At Spriggs Excavation, we don’t just move dirt—we deliver high-impact civil construction projects with precision and grit. We’re hiring a Project Engineer ready to take their skills on the road and play a key role in projects across multiple states.
This is a 100% travel role, with assignments lasting several months at a time before moving to the next project. If you’re adaptable, hands-on, and eager to grow, you’ll gain diverse experience fast.

What You’ll Do:
Project Coordination & Execution
Partner with Project Managers and Superintendents to keep projects aligned on schedule, scope, and budget
Maintain master schedules and 3-week lookaheads
Validate IFC plans, quantities, and assumptions; support contract true-ups
Track and manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders through completion
Assist with procurement and material coordination
Support One-Call updates and permitting for safe operations

Technical & Field Support
Manage GPS topos (pre-construction, progress, as-built)
Compare models vs. field data to verify quantities and production
Compile and interpret survey data for tracking and reporting
Assist with layout, takeoffs, and field engineering support
Maintain key project logs (RFIs, submittals, quantities, etc.)
Support progress meetings (agendas, notes, follow-ups)
Perform UAV/drone work (FAA Part 107 required or obtained within 6 months)

What You Bring:
1–3 years of civil construction experience (internships considered)
Strong understanding of plans, specs, and construction methods
Experience with tools like Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, Magnet/Topcon, or similar (preferred)
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability and willingness to travel full-time
FAA Part 107 Drone License—or ability to obtain
