Job Description
We are seeking a Project Engineer to support our engineering and project management teams. In this role, you will perform engineering design evaluations and work to complete projects within budget and scheduling constraints. You will review industry policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance, while providing technical support for the engineering process. This position works under immediate supervision, following established guidelines, and serves as backup for the Project Manager when required.
Job Description
The Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering and construction projects. This role is responsible for assisting with engineering design evaluations, project coordination, and ensuring activities are completed within budget and schedule constraints. The position works under supervision and follows established procedures while gaining exposure to project management systems, contractor coordination, and engineering processes.
Responsibilities
Support engineering design evaluations and assist in project execution activities
Participate in bid processes, including Invitation to Tender (ITT) development, bid evaluation, and contractor selection
Assist in sourcing and coordination of long-lead equipment and materials
Coordinate development of key project deliverables and planning documentation
Support project issue resolution and change management processes
Track and help manage assigned project scope to ensure alignment with objectives, schedule, and budget
Interface with contractors and internal teams to ensure design and construction meet specifications and standards
Assist in ensuring smooth transitions between project phases
Provide technical support to engineering and project teams
Review reports related to production, maintenance, and system performance to identify issues
Support compliance with industry standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Assist Project Manager and provide backup support as needed
Skills
Basic understanding of engineering design, construction, and project management principles
Strong organizational, coordination, and planning skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work within structured processes and follow established guidelines
Adaptability to changing priorities and workload demands
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
Exposure to engineering, construction, or project management environments (internships or early career experience) preferred
Familiarity with engineering standards, specifications, and work processes is a plus
Demonstrated ability to work in team-based, multi-disciplinary environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
