Summary
RIGID Industries is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead cross-functional engineering efforts from concept through production. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing engineering projects to meet technical, schedule, cost, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment, brings strong technical and organizational skills and partners closely with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and commercial teams to drive successful product launches.
Essential Functions
Own planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, including scope, schedule, budget, cost models, and risk management.
Lead project technical teams through the product development lifecycle, including mechanical and electrical design, validation, and production integration.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales, and Marketing to ensure successful product launches.
Coordinate with suppliers and material sourcing teams for new materials quotes and ensure material compliance with approved designs.
Identify, track, and mitigate project risks, technical risks, and resource constraints.
Coordinate development, testing, and validation of prototypes, tooling, and production-ready designs.
Lead engineering activities such as feasibility analysis, design reviews, and test evaluations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for technical and project-related communications with internal and external stakeholders.
Translate customer requirements and feedback into project scope and specifications.
Ensure creation, maintenance, and accuracy of item masters and Bills of Materials (BoMs) for raw materials and finished goods within the MRP system.
Coordinate with Quality Assurance (QA) to address program quality issues and support Corrective Actions (CARs) impacting new and existing product lines.
Support the generation of technical and marketing documentation related to new product introductions.
Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and improving project processes and execution standards.
Willing to travel nationally/internationally
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Project Management role.
BS in Engineering, Project Management, or related field (preferred)
Have and/or willing to obtain US passport
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Strong technical writing abilities.
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills required.
Experience with new product development.
Normal Work Hours
8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday (some nights and weekends may be required)
