Job Summary:
The Project Engineer provides critical assistance and administrative support to the Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager, and field operations team. This role's primary responsibilities include organizing, documenting, and managing the flow of information throughout the project lifecycle. Key focus areas include monitoring and managing submittals, RFIs, scheduling, and maintaining accurate records of meetings. Additionally, the Project Engineer plays a vital role in coordinating and executing the project closeout process.


Responsibilities:
Assist with on-site management to ensure project success
Ensure project plan is moving forward to meet anticipated deadlines
Responsible for RFI and submittal process
Processes owner billings and project related accounting issues


Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management or Similar Experiences
Basic knowledge of construction documents, specifications, and processes
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and commitment to quality
Collaborative mindset and ability to work within a team environment
Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project , Outbuild, or similar tools
Strong computer skills and fluency in; MS Project Suite, Blue Beam (or sim) & Sketch-up
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Effective verbal and written communication skills

Preconstruction & Estimating Responsibility:
lA Project Engineer’s responsibilities for Preconstruction and Estimating include providing technical support by analyzing project requirements, interpreting design documents, and assisting with quantity take-offs to ensure accurate cost estimates. They collaborate with the estimating team to gather data on materials, labor, and equipment, contributing to budget and schedule development. The Project Engineer also helps identify potential constructability issues and supports value engineering efforts, ensuring that preconstruction plans are both practical and cost-effective.

Documents Control Responsibility
A Project Engineer’s document control responsibilities include maintaining an updated and organized set of construction and contract documents, ensuring all revisions and changes are accurately recorded in Procore & RGC Server and distributed to necessary parties. They develop a working knowledge of baseline project documents, monitor changes, and ensure proper filing and accessibility for all stakeholders. Additionally, the Project Engineer supports the project team by verifying that all field and office personnel are working with the most current and accurate project information via Procore, RGC Server and in p

Subcontracts and Buy Out Responsibility
Develop a comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of the contract documents (including REEDER's subcontract, plans, specifications and applicable building codes). Know scope intimately to assist purchasing team

Scheduling Responsibility
Assist with the data input, maintenance of data, and distributing the project Master Schedule, 6-week look ahead.


Submittals Responsibility
Own the submittal process: define, create & manage project submittals & logs to track the critical path required for approval of submittals and release of materials for manufacturing and fabrication.

RFI Responsibility
Collects all information and technical details from various stakeholders as necessary for the RFIs. Assist the APM preliminary drafting of RFI, and manages the organization, process workflow, and final distribution of RFIs and responses.
Meetings Resp
onsibilitySchedule, participate in, and document all job meetings, preconstruction meetings, safety meetings, owner-architect and coordination

meetings.
Proposal Res
ponsibilityAssist the project management team with distributing information from received "source documents" to affected subcontractors and gather information/pricing from affected subcontractors. Build proposals with the gathered information for the APM & Project Manager to review.

Closeout Responsibility
Project Closeout (like Submittals) is a key responsibility for the Project Engineer to lead and one of the primary tasks that they can take ownership of for the project.
Safety Responsibility
A Project Engineer’s safety responsibilities include actively monitoring and promoting safe practices on-site while assisting in the identification of potential hazards in daily operations. They conduct routine site inspections, ensuring that safety protocols are followed and report any safety concerns or violations to the Project Manager or safety officer. The Project Engineer also supports the team by ensuring that safety requirements are integrated into technical plans and schedules, coordinating with subcontractors to reinforce compliance. Additionally, they may participate in incident investigations, providing technical insights and documenting findings to help prevent future occurrences.
