Position Overview
The Project Engineer (PE) will support the Project Manager, Superintendent, and project teams in coordinating and executing public works construction projects. This role is ideal for someone who is detail‑oriented, eager to learn, and ready to take on increasing responsibility within a fast‑paced construction environment.
Candidates with exposure to DSA‑regulated projects, Design‑Build delivery, or publicly funded construction will be given strong consideration.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with project coordination from preconstruction through closeout
Help maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost tracking
Prepare and process RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project documentation in alignment with DSA and public works requirements
Support communication with architects, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and school district representatives
Participate in design coordination and project meetings
Ensure project documentation meets DSA standards, including reports, inspections, and closeout materials
Assist with procurement, subcontractor onboarding, and contract administration
Monitor jobsite progress and provide timely information to field teams
Support company safety practices and quality expectations
Contribute to a positive, solutions‑oriented project environment
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred)
1–3 years of experience in commercial or public works construction (internships or entry‑level experience considered)
Exposure to DSA, Design‑Build, or K–12 public projects is a plus
Understanding of construction documents, scheduling, and basic cost management
Familiarity with construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Project
Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse project stakeholders
