We are experts in commercial and specialty construction, with our projects spanning new builds as well as the rehabilitation and repurposing of existing structures and attractions. Examples of our work include kitchens, restrooms, kiosks, gift shops, walkways, back-of-house support buildings and offices, facades, faux rock and stone, faux wood, architectural details, murals, high performance paint, specialty molds, speaker boxes, zoological exhibits, and more.

Role Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Bilingual (English/Spanish) Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position is ideal for individuals that have just graduated from a construction-based program and are looking to kickstart their career in project management. The Project Engineer will gain hands-on experience from our team of experts across many aspects of our business, from building relationships with our customers and suppliers to assisting with project planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities
Be the first friendly face and voice of MLC’s visitors
Organize client and / or team meetings and events
Support project estimating efforts by gathering data and preparing preliminary estimates
Assist in reviewing contracts, blueprints, drawings, and other project documents to draft project plans, specifications, and schedules
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and other project team members to ensure timely services and delivery of materials in accordance with the project schedule
Conduct site visits to inspect work, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and address issues which may arise on projects
Coordinate communication (in English and Spanish) between various stakeholders including contractors, suppliers, clients, and internal team members
Assist with other operational needs, such as recruiting, orientation, and special projects

Qualifications
Must be bilingual, with verbal and written proficiency in English and Spanish
Degree, certification, or educational courses (at least 2 years preferred) within building construction, construction management, engineering sciences, or other related field
Prior exposure to project scheduling tools and construction management software such as Microsoft Project, BlueBeam, BIM360, and/or similar programs
Strong understanding of blueprint reading and schematic interpretation
Comfortable taking measurements and assessing job needs from various heights by using ladders, aerial lifts (up to 120 ft), and scaffolds (up to 200 ft).
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.
Ability to work in a dynamic, open / shared workspace

Preferences
Prior exposure to construction trades (especially painting, carpentry, or plastering)
Understanding of theme park operations

Other Requirements
Typical work hours are Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM; however, project needs may drive adjustments to this schedule in order to attend meetings on site.
Safe driving record for occasional same-day travel to visit clients and job sites, generally in the Central Florida area
