About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to support the design and execution of high-voltage substation projects across utility and infrastructure markets. This is an opportunity to join a growing team delivering complex projects up to 765kV, with strong exposure to technical leadership, project ownership, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
This role is ideal for engineers with experience in Protection & Controls, Physical Design, or both, who want to work on large-scale infrastructure projects while maintaining schedule flexibility through a hybrid work model.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead or support engineering efforts on high-voltage substation projects up to 765kV
Develop and review substation design packages including physical and/or protection & controls deliverables
Coordinate with project managers, clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
Support project execution from conceptual design through construction and commissioning activities
Perform technical reviews, QA/QC checks, and engineering calculations
Prepare equipment specifications, Bills of Materials, and design documentation
Mentor junior engineers and contribute technical expertise across project teams
Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and occasional site visits
What We’re Looking For
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited program
5+ years of substation engineering experience
Background in high-voltage substation design (Physical and/or Protection & Controls)
Strong communication and coordination skills
Preferred:
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain
Experience leading projects or serving as a technical lead
Utility project experience
QA/QC review experience
Familiarity with Bluebeam and standard engineering software tools
