Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000 base salary

Position Overview
A consumer products manufacturer is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support plant operations and lead a range of capital projects from planning through execution. This role will be responsible for managing both small and large projects, supporting equipment-related issues alongside Maintenance, and helping drive continuous improvement across the operation.
This person will also play a leadership role by coordinating contractors, leading project teams, and providing coaching, mentoring, and training to Engineers and Operators as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Lead small and large capital projects from concept through completion
Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and execution to ensure successful delivery
Partner with Maintenance to help troubleshoot and resolve equipment-related issues
Manage contractors and coordinate outside resources during project execution
Lead cross-functional project teams and drive accountability across key stakeholders
Support plant performance through process, equipment, and operational improvements
Coach, mentor, and train Engineers and Operators as needed
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, and performance
Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and plant leadership to support production goals
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, preferably Mechanical Engineering
Strong experience leading capital projects in consumer products or high-speed manufacturing
Proven experience managing contractors and leading project teams
Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop Engineers and/or Operators
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Continuous improvement experience required
Hands-on plant engineering background preferred
Ideal Candidate Profile
Project-oriented engineer who is comfortable being hands-on in a plant environment
Strong mix of capital project execution, equipment troubleshooting support, and leadership
Background in consumer products or other high-speed manufacturing environments
Able to work cross-functionally and drive results through both direct effort and team leadership
