We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the design, documentation, deployment, and commissioning of mission-critical electronic security systems. This role plays a key part across the full project lifecycle, partnering closely with engineers, project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in compliance with all engineering standards and specifications. The successful candidate will interpret physical security standards, drawings, bill of materials, request for proposals, and submittal requirements provided by the client.
The expectation is for this Project Engineer to be fully engaged in every phase of project delivery, maintaining a consistent onsite presence, reliable communication, and strong ownership of timelines and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Design, document, and manage technical submittals for large-scale security installation projects
Develop engineering plans, implementation strategies, and failover designs
Support bidding efforts including takeoffs, bills of materials, and cost estimates
Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and trade partners to align designs and installation requirements
Track RFIs, revisions, submittals, schedules, and project documentation
Lead design reviews and contribute to process improvements and technical knowledge sharing
Provide on-site support including site surveys, pre-install testing, and field commissioning
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial preferred)
7+ years of relevant design and deployment experience (plus if experience is in mission-critical facilities)
Physical Security systems experience (design, integration, install & test, commission)
Strong CAD experience is required, AutoCAD preferred
Experience creating detailed engineering plans, implementation plans, and failover strategies
Experience with scheduling, job cost tracking, and project coordination
Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Experience with any of the following is a plus: Revit, SolidWorks, BIM tools (BIM 360)
Must be comfortable with ~50% travel to support client sites in Waco, Burlington, and/or Haskell
Compensation range: $110k - $130k
