Job Overview
Epoxy Coating Specialists (“ECS”), located in Shawnee, KS, is a fast-paced commercial and industrial-focused seamless flooring installation contractor with nearly 30 years in the business. ECS is seeking a Project Engineer to assist in managing multiple projects from pre-construction through project execution and closeout. The Project Engineer is responsible for supporting project management efforts by focusing on schedule coordination, submittals, safety documentation, and site management. This role will also assist in financial tracking, invoicing, and change management.
This position will report to the Director of Project Management but will drive cross-functional collaboration across sales and operations.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Project Coordination and Management
Assist in the management of multiple projects by coordinating project schedules, tracking submittals, and ensuring safety documentation compliance.
Work with Project Managers, Operations Manager, and Superintendents to support project planning, scheduling, and material procurement.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure field reporting and the timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Monitor project schedules and report updates to assist with overall platform schedule management.
Assist in identifying and tracking change orders.
Ensure accurate documentation of project details, material consumption, and inventory tracking.
Support project closeout by compiling job reports, punch lists, and final submittals.
Financial and Contract Support
Work with Project Managers, Operations Manager, and Superintendents to track project budgets, invoicing, and change orders.
Assist in the preparation and submission of invoices in coordination with the Project Manager.
Ensure that all documentation related to financial tracking is properly recorded and maintained.
Field and Site Management
Collaborate with Project Managers and Field Supervisors to ensure clear communication of project requirements to installation teams.
Support field teams by ensuring necessary job site documentation, such as safety reports and material tracking, are completed accurately.
Complete and oversee project field reporting, including daily reports and safety compliance documentation.
Customer and Team Collaboration
Serve as a key support role for customer communication and project documentation.
Develop and maintain progress reports for customers and internal teams throughout the job cycle.
Assist in resolving project-related issues by coordinating with the appropriate teams and stakeholders.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required).
Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in construction, project coordination, or related field.
Basic understanding of project scheduling, submittals, and construction documentation.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Experience with ERP systems, scheduling software, or project tracking tools (preferred but not required).
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally and accommodate overnight travel as required.
Expected Schedule:
8-10 hour shift
Day shift, Monday thru Friday
Weekends as needed
