The Opportunity
A leading heavy civil general contractor is seeking a Project Engineer to join their growing team in Charlotte, NC.
This is an opportunity to work on large-scale infrastructure, power, and civil engineering projects, including energy facilities and turbine installations, with a company known for delivering complex, high-value projects across the Southeast.

Key Responsibilities
Support Project Managers in delivering civil and infrastructure projects from pre-construction through completion
Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and design consultants
Assist with project scheduling, cost tracking, and reporting
Review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
Manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders
Ensure compliance with safety standards and project requirements
Contribute to problem-solving on complex engineering challenges

What We’re Looking For
2–6+ years of experience as a Project Engineer or similar role
Background in heavy civil, infrastructure, or power projects
Experience working on large-scale construction projects
Strong understanding of construction processes, drawings, and specifications
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
