Position Overview
The Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager will support the successful execution of civil construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is ideal for a driven professional looking to grow into a Project Manager position while gaining exposure to field operations, project controls, and client coordination.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in managing civil construction projects including roadway, sitework, utilities, and paving
Support Project Managers and Superintendents in daily project operations
Track project budgets, schedules, and production progress
Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
Participate in project meetings with clients, municipalities, and inspectors
Assist with procurement and material tracking
Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality control requirements
Support project closeout including punch lists and final documentation

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred)
1–5 years of experience in civil construction (internships considered)
Experience with heavy civil, DOT, roadway, utilities, or site development projects preferred
Strong understanding of construction processes and project lifecycle
Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar tools
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, field-driven environment

Preferred Experience
Exposure to TxDOT or municipal projects
Experience with grading, paving, underground utilities, or structural concrete
Familiarity with project scheduling and cost tracking

Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $90K – $115K (DOE)
