Role Description The Project Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Jacksonville, FL. This role is responsible for developing and refining design concepts, producing detailed drawings and technical documents, and supporting project delivery from initial planning through completion. Day-to-day work includes creating and updating CAD drawings, coordinating with architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders, and assisting with the preparation of design presentations and project submittals. The Project Design Engineer conducts research to support design decisions, verifies design compliance with relevant codes and standards, and participates in internal design reviews. The role also involves responding to field questions, supporting revisions during construction, and maintaining organized project files and documentation.
Qualifications
Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for preparing, updating, and reviewing technical drawings and models.
Skills in Architecture and related design disciplines to interpret plans, collaborate with design teams, and translate concepts into buildable solutions.
Graphic Design and Graphics abilities to develop clear visual representations, diagrams, and presentation materials that support project communication.
Strong Research capability to gather technical data, review codes and standards, and support informed design decisions.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
Ability to read and interpret construction documents, specifications, and relevant regulations.
Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Experience with engineering or architectural design projects and familiarity with local building codes is preferred.
