Job Title: Test Engineer – Supply Chain Support
Location: New Freedom, PA (Hybrid)
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Test Engineer to support our Supply Chain Outsourcing and Product Qualification Initiatives. This role is critical in ensuring the timely completion of engineering deliverables by providing technical expertise in component testing, supplier collaboration, and design validation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical systems, project management, and cross-functional communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze component assembly designs and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using SAP.
Initiate and manage design changes and deviations, ensuring timely implementation of released designs.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on design simplification and production cycle time reduction.
Review supplier specifications and manufacturing processes; provide engineering assessments on feasibility, quality, and reliability.
Develop and execute test programs to verify the performance and reliability of chiller components and systems.
Coordinate with suppliers and third-party test labs to execute qualification programs; document and report test results.
Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes to support design-for-manufacturability principles.
Lead and manage cross-functional projects, ensuring clear communication of project status to internal and external stakeholders.
Provide technical support to suppliers and internal teams including Materials, Quality Control, Engineering, and Safety.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
Associate degree with extensive relevant experience will also be considered
Experience & Skills:
Experience with product design
Strong understanding of mechanical components: compressors, fans, motors, drives, heat exchangers, valves, wiring, sheet metal, and piping. This can be from practical or academic experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams
Familiarity with product testing in both in-house and third-party lab environments
Experience with basic project management tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in HVAC or chiller systems
Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
Knowledge of international testing standards and qualification protocols
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
