Product Lifecycle Engineer (EdgeOne)
Role Overview
AIRSYS Cooling Technologies is seeking a Product Lifecycle Engineer to serve as the central technical steward for the EdgeOne family across its full lifecycle, from new product launch through ongoing field performance, regulatory compliance, and eventual product transitions.
The engineer in this role bridges field operations and engineering. The engineer maintains continuous visibility into how deployed units are performing across the installed base through monitored datalogs, alarm logs, and PM records to identify patterns; track and communicate hardware and firmware changes to every downstream stakeholder; and translate technical product knowledge into high-quality training materials that enable the support team to commission, troubleshoot, and maintain EdgeOne family systems confidently.
Key Responsibilities
Product Lifecycle Ownership
Own and maintain the master product roadmap for all EdgeOne Product Line, aligned to AIRSYS product strategy
Track product status across lifecycle phases: introduction, growth, maturity, and end-of-life / transition planning
Manage model SKU configurations and ensure accuracy of the model nomenclature system (capacity, compressor type, mechanical package, refrigerant, power supply, fan type, coating, filter, heater options)
Support the readiness process for new product launch
Engineering Change Intake & Tracking
Aggregate and analyze field data from field support team, alarm/data log downloads, component replacement data to identify systemic product behavior from site-specific anomalies
Work cross-functionally with R&D, QA, technical support team, to identify, track, and resolve field issues
Own the engineering change intake process: receive change notifications from R&D, assess downstream impact across IOMs, specification sheets, and training materials
Categorize changes by type and urgency, hardware BOM changes, firmware/software updates, control parameter default changes, alarm code additions or behavior changes, and refrigerant/safety-related modifications
Maintain a master engineering change log for the EdgeOne family, tracking: change description, affected models, affected document sections, IOM/spec revision required, training impact, and status
Coordinate the Support Portal Doc Updates cross-functional review process, ensuring engineering, technical support, compliance, and marketing stakeholders are aligned before document revisions are published
Support Team Enablement
Develop and maintain a complete training curriculum for the EdgeOne product family, covering: installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance
Author commissioning quick reference troubleshooting guides that consolidate the IOM commissioning checklist into a practical field document
Develop and maintain support team knowledge base articles for common field issues — indexed by alarm code, symptom, and model, suitable for use by support staff during live calls and ticket resolution
Maintain a living FAQ document for the support portal, updated quarterly based on recurring support ticket themes and new field intelligence
Coordinate new product introduction training, develop training gap analysis between existing content and any new products
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related Working knowledge of refrigerant systems, VFD compressor technology, economizer controls, and heat exchanger performance
Ability to read and interpret alarm code tables, troubleshooting guides, and real-time performance parameter data from controller displays and remote monitoring systems
Experience maintaining technical documentation through structured version control in a multi-stakeholder environment
Demonstrated ability to develop clear, accurate technical training content for a field service audience
Familiarity with AHRI, ASHRAE, NEC/NFPA compliance frameworks governing HVAC products
Strong cross-functional communication skills across engineering, service, and non-technical teams
Preferred
Hands-on experience with HVAC commissioning, startup procedures, or field troubleshooting — ideally including controller configuration and network setup
Experience with remote monitoring systems (Modbus, IP/SNMP, BACnet) and remote controller configuration
Experience with data analysis tools for trending field performance data (Excel, Power BI, or similar)
Work Environment & Travel
Travel required to customer sites, data centers, or partner facilities, primarily to support key technical engagements rather than routine field work.
Travel may include overnight or extended stays.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods during site visits and facility tours.
Benefits
Competitive compensation package based on experience
Comprehensive benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA, DCFSA, Life Insurance, paid holidays, vacation, and sick time
Career advancement opportunities
Global exposure and insight into advanced cooling and HVAC technologies
